I joined because men always used to pass comments on me and touch my body but now we beat them and they run.”Like the other members in the northern city of Lucknow, 25-year-old Usha has first-hand experience of the daily dangers women face in the huge nation – a teacher tried to rape her when she was 18. She said: “He grabbed me and tried to open my trousers. I kicked him in the crotch and ran.” Usha complained to staff but they told her to forget it and allowed her attacker to carry on teaching. I love how all these white guys who claim to be “central” or “neutral” never call out misogynists or racists out on bigotry - let alone microaggressions, but if a feminist or advocate for PoC calls them out on any minor problem, or even posts regarding men or white people as an institution - holy shit, they’re extremists and can’t possibly be for equality!
This is why “centralism” or Egalitarianism or any of that bollocks won’t work - because when ‘equality’ and ‘neutrality’ starts from the perspective of those already in the highest state of social privilege, justice will never happen for anyone else.
